Fact-Checking Policy

Last Updated:12/08/2025

1. Our Standards

  • Verify Before Publishing: Every claim, statistic, and quote is cross-checked with primary sources (official reports, expert interviews).
  • Label Speculation: Unverified tips are tagged as “Developing Story” or “Unconfirmed”.

2. Sources We Trust

  • Preferred: Government data, peer-reviewed studies, on-record interviews.
  • Avoided: Anonymous forums, unverified social media posts.

3. Correction Protocol

  • Minor Errors: Edited silently with a note at the article’s end.
  • Major Errors: Bold “Correction” notice at the top (e.g., “Correction: An earlier version misstated [X]. We regret the error.”).

4. How to Report Errors

  • Email contact@newsfoxy.com with:
    • Article URL + error description.
    • Supporting evidence (links/docs).
  • We respond within 24 hours.

5. Staff Accountability

  • Fact-checkers are trained annually on tools like Google Fact Check Explorer.
  • Repeat errors trigger editorial reviews.
